Free Speech Zone presents three sets of music that each explore themes of the personal and the political. The program will include the Newspeak Ensemble in their final NYC show of the year, with music by David T. Little, Judd Greenstein, Oscar Bettison, and other acclaimed young composers exploring social and historical issues; Nashville-based composer/pianist/vocalist Marcin Bela, bringing his blend of Eastern European, cabaret, jazz and classical music blend to New York, joining NOW Ensemble for a set of songs about dissidents from throughout the past; and massey, in a set of songs from his recent CD release "sexy/violent girls/war" and his upcoming release "the new austerity".
